I'm feeling flattered as I post the first pictures of orange arrows; a pile of them sprouted around the name sign by my door. Beckett shared them with me.
He also shares these arrows. Where do you see holiness?
Your work begins: point out things that are holy. Things that you know to bear a bit of God in the world. Put an orange arrow by them, directing people to notice, and to visit www.thisisholy.blogspot.com. Then take a picture and send it (with whatever explanation you'd add) to thisisholy@gmail.com.
It's so easy to move quickly through the world, without ever pausing to notice that there are beautiful, holy things that matter all around us. So, we started marking them.
On Transfiguration Sunday 2008, as we celebrated the way Jesus the Christ let his disciples see that he was, indeed, holy, by shining in brilliant light on a mountaintop, we also started looking for signs of God's good presence all around us. We invite you to be a part of this marking, and noticing, too.
Just find something that's holy, and mark it with this website.
Who knows what it might change when we notice the whole world is illuminated with signs of holiness?
How to Play
Get an orange arrow from us, or make one on your own. Point it at something that reminds you of God's presence in the world. Then, take a picture if you can, or just send an explanation in words--email them to thisisholy@gmail.com.
